Paul Biya orders the release of detainees arrested in the context of the Anglophone crisis

Cameroonian President Paul Biya on Wednesday ordered a halt to the prosecution of Anglophone leaders detained for their alleged involvement in the socio-political demands that rocked the northwest and southwest regions of the country in November 2016.

Among those detained were Ayah Paul, Felix Agbor Kongho, Neba Fontom and many others.

The anglophone Regions have been plunged in persistent “ghost town” and strikes which has had a negative impact on the 2016/2017 academic year and hampering the upcoming school year which is to begin come monday september 4th.
